The Legislative Era is a period of the Death March defined by a few things. [title name=”Mike Kane”], ruled over this period as the first Grand Marshal. Consequently, as a way to define and limit the Grand Marshal’s powers, as well as a way to record the Punishments, the bylaws were developed. It also marks a transition period when the hike went from something a small group of friends did to something anyone in Los Angeles could attend.
Many of these Marches would be seen as somewhat unorganized to the modern observer, but it took these years of trial by fire to figure out what the Death March would become.
