\nAll punishments are born of things that someone tried. So every year, you are encouraged to punish yourself in some way. For this personal punishment, you get to add any title you wish to your name. This is also how you submit punishments to become official punishments. Some have alternately become achievements.<\/a><\/p>\n
Personal Punishments that have not become official ones include:<\/p>\n

- Wearing a suit<\/li>\n
- Making a movie<\/li>\n
- Wearing uncomfortable shoes<\/li>\n
- Drinking grog instead of water<\/li>\n
- Speaking only in Pig Latin<\/li>\n
- Wearing a mask<\/li>\n
- Marching while sick<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In other words, the sky is the limit.

\nConsume alcohol at some point on the march.<\/p>\nMaybe not legal, but definitely bylegal. You get to choose the protectorship of a country<\/a> for doing this. You can also protect a place in the country that your team captain chooses!

\nEat some food with Tommy’s chili on it.<\/p>\nThis earns you an honorific title, such as Sir, Doctor, Captain, Sama, Lady, Master, etc.

<\/a>Labours Punishment<\/strong>
\nThis is a very complex punishment that involves doing exercise reps.<\/del><\/p>\nStars and various status such as Saint<\/strong>, Redeemer<\/strong>, and Overlord<\/strong> are attached to your title for this punishment. \nThis punishment was removed in 2011 as it was too complicated. Still encouraged as a personal punishment.<\/p>\n

\nVegetarianism Punishment<\/strong>
\nEat vegetarian chili in lieu of the Tommy’s Chili Punishment and do not eat meat for the whole March.<\/p>\nThis earns you membership into the Fraternity of a food animal of their choice. For example, “Fraternity of Sus Scrofa.”

\nCarry and use an instrument, radio, or other noise maker for the whole March.<\/p>\nThis earns you the Troubadour<\/strong>, Bard<\/strong> or Herald<\/strong> title.

<\/a>Marching in Drag Punishment<\/strong>
\nDress up in clothing traditionally worn by the other gender. Women are also required to sport facial hair.<\/p>\nThis earns you a title with the word drag<\/strong> in it.<\/p>\n
Marching in Long Sleeves and Pants Punishment<\/strong>
\nDress in long sleeves and pants and refrain from rolling them up for the duration of the March.<\/p>\nThis earns you the title Longfellow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
